Review: "Bring Our Things Home?" - Public Introduction and Discussion

On November 30th, 2018, the IIP team were happy to host our first public introduction of the IIP project, and were happy to see a large turnout of interested members of the public, press and Government at the event.

As part of the event, the general outline of the IIP project was presented to the public, which was followed by a panel discussion between George Ondeng’ and Jim Chuchu of the National Museums of Kenya and the Nest Collective (both participating institutions of the IIP project), moderated by Dr. Njoki Ngumi followed by a public discussion on the issues of cultural artifacts held abroad and the thorny debate on the matters of restitution.

As part of IIP’s commitment to continuously engage the public both on the issues of cultural artefacts abroad as well as the ongoing progress and developments of the IIP project, we will continue to host Object Movement Dialogues over the course of 2019-2020. Details of the next OMD will be published soon.
